As an events and function venue in Nelson, it always delights us to play a part in so many wonderful occasions! From family celebrations right through to corporate events, we are proud to be able to help our clients throw the perfect party or galvanise their teams.
As another year draws to a close, we thought we’d take a look at our year in review. In this article, we share some of the occasions you’ve celebrated at our events and function centre in Nelson. And a few that we’ve celebrated too!
Events and Function Venue – Year in Review:
January:
January is a popular month for weddings. As an events and function venue, we’re delighted to host weddings at Beachside Nelson. But our in-house catering team, Gourmet Catering, often work off-site during this high season. This year we teamed up with Fairfield House, Appleby House & Rabbit Island Huts and Thackwood Cottage and Garden, to name a few… Bringing the event catering to you!

February:
During February, we celebrated our in-house catering team, Gourmet Catering. Carol and her team won the Innovation Category Award at the Nelson Pine Industries Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

March:
Through a deliciously warm March, the weddings continued. Here’s the lovely Francine preparing a grazing table feast for the newlyweds and their guests.

April:
April saw the last summer weddings before Autumn
began and what a way to end summer! When two cultures come together to celebrate love it’s a beautiful thing! Here are a couple of photos from the one of our favourite celebrations.

May:
May saw the return of winter conferences. And at Beachside, our catering knows how to feed a crowd… Say goodbye to soggy sandwiches and stale slices, and say hello to buddha bowls and ice cream!

June:
In June, we hosted the Nelson Rotary Sir Jack Newman evening. With 120 guests for a plated dinner and guest speaker Doctor Ashley Bloomfield, it was a wonderful evening!

July:
July saw our catering team conferencing again… We were delighted to work with our good friends at the Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce.

August:
In August, we hosted 100 delegates from Sanctuaries New Zealand for three days; sadly, the weather didn’t play ball for their field trips so they had indoor seminars instead. But at Beachside, our events and function centre has fantastic capacity for occasions like this.

September:
Because we know how important it is for you to plan your events, September was the month we officially launched our Christmas menus. We are happy for you to speak about the festive season at any time of year. So, if you want to book now for next year, just give us a call!

October:
With dietary and lifestyle choices ever-changing we are happy to cater for all at our events and function venue. These days, it’s not often that we create a menu that’s all meat. But, when the client is a meat producer, and the brief is to use their products to impress the shareholders, that’s precisely what we do.

November:
Some of you like to get the Christmas party started early… So, mid-November saw the start of our festive celebrations at Beachside. Our clients were served canapés while mingling before being seated for a plated main course followed by our Christmas-themed shared dessert platters.

December:
The Christmas parties continue.
We enjoyed hosting this fun 1920s-themed Christmas Party for the Rutherford Probus.
This is the third year we have hosted this group; each event always has a different theme and they are guaranteed to be fun.
If you have a celebration or work event coming up in 2023. Talk to us about hosting it at our events and function venue, Beachside Nelson.
