The key to a successful event always lies in the planning. Whether you’re organising a Nelson training day, conference, meeting or company party, one of the first things on your ‘to-do’ list should be to select your event venue.
To help you evaluate whether an event venue is the right one for you, we’ve come up with a handy checklist for you to follow.
How to select your Nelson event venue:
Balance the Budget:
Whether you’re planning an event for your own company, or as an employee, there is sure to be a budget you need to work within. So, the cost will often be first on the list of factors to consider when you’re choosing your Nelson event venue. That said, you might not want to go for the cheapest option. Instead, determine which Nelson event venue will offer the best value for money. At Beachside Nelson our team is run by Carol Shirley and Lincoln Womersley. They have over four decades of hospitality experience between them. We think that’s important because it means you get value-added service.
Scrutinise the Space:
Size and capacity are important when you need to select an event venue. Remember that two venues with the same capacity might feel entirely differently based on room layout. At Beachside Nelson, we have seven different function rooms to choose from; these are all incredibly versatile and can be set up in various styles. If you’re unsure how big or small a room might be, we invite you to come and see us. That way, you can make a more informed judgement on which room(s) you would like to hire.
Focus on Facilities:
Be sure to confirm with your Nelson event venue what facilities are available and whether there are any hidden charges. Our venue has wireless internet throughout. We can provide everything you need for your meetings, conferences and workshops, including, projectors, screens and whiteboards. We include most equipment with your room hire charge.
Do also think about parking, accessibility and outside spaces. At Beachside, we are fully accessible, with plenty of on-site parking. Our garden areas are perfect for your delegates to take breaks. Two of our function rooms have balconies with stunning beach views.
Concentrate on Catering:
Once again, food and beverage costs will be a core part of your budget when selecting an event venue. Because Carol and Lincoln have extensive catering experience, they develop menus that will feed your delegates well, while still sitting well within most budgets. We offer some set menus, but will also work with clients to provide bespoke catering solutions.
A venue’s reputation for service is vital in ensuring that your corporate event is a standout success. At Beachside we’re confident that we offer our clients excellent customer service. One recent review was brief but on the button – “Great location, excellent facilities and a fantastic experience.”
